Course Overview

It is estimated that 1 in 10 people will suffer from food poisoning this year. This means millions of people in the UK will become sick due to the food that they eat. In many cases, outbreaks of food poisoning can be traced back to failures of management and a lack of supervision of people and processes.

When you consider that consumers spend £219 billion a year on food and drink, and that the sector employs nearly 4 million people, its no wonder food safety has never been higher on the public’s agenda.
The Food Safety Level 3 training course is ideal for supervisors and managers working in a catering environment with responsibility for food hygiene. This includes those working in restaurants, cafes, hotels, bars, fast-food outlets, takeaways, mobile food trucks, kitchens, hospitals, schools and colleges.

This e-learning course is CPD accredited. Completion of this course after 5 February 2019 entitles the learner to 12 CPD points. More information can be found at https://cpduk.co.uk/explained

Entry requirements
There are no prerequisites to study this course, though an understanding of principles of food safety will be beneficial.

Test and certification
The course is assessed by multiple-choice questions at the end of the course. Learners must score 100% in order to pass.
If the learner does not achieve 100% first time, they will be taken back to review the module with which they have struggled. They can then retry the multiple-choice questions as many times as necessary to pass the course.

If you wish to achieve a recognised level 3 food safety qualification you must sit an exam with a recognised training provider (you can still use the e-learning as the knowledge element of the training).
